Quantum Digital Rapping

December 27, 2008

I somehow came across this in my travels, it’s ridiculously geeky but I like it. Over 4 million people have seen this video and I think 2009 is going to be a big year for this sort of thing in Cyberspace.

Quantum Physics meets Rap meets Digital meets Information Distribution

I love you WormyT…

December 23, 2008

I know this has been all over the internet today, but it’s just too incredible not to post. The only thing is that to be honest it’s probably better than any Thundercats film that could ever be made, judging by the way that most remakes have done their best to piss all over my childhood memories (Optimus Prime doesn’t have flames on his side, Bay, and Megatron is a GUN, not a plane, why the hell would he be a plane when Starscream’s around? You could at least have made him a tank or something, something with a big fat GUN on it for example, idiot), which makes me sad in a kind of post-coital way (post nerd-gasm more like).

Happy Christmas!

This should definitely be a viral – Homebase maybe? Focus Do it All? Someone’s missing a trick…

The Truth about Marketing People, Les Vins De Bordeaux and The Fear of a Small Cock (Part 1)

December 17, 2008

A touch of paranoia?

I saw this almost incomprehensible vignette scrawled on an ad for Les Vins De Bordeaux at Lewisham station this morning, and all I can say is, why the hell didn’t someone tell me sooner?!

MARKETING PEOPLE EMPLOY NEW AGE SPOOKS TO HARASS PEOPLE FOR MONEY ARMY POLICE UNDERCOVER AMBULANCE AND FIREMAN DRIVERS ALL PART OF THE SAME TEAM HARASSING PEOPLE ON BENEFITS USING GADGETS THAT USE MICROWAVES

Gadgets that use microwaves?! Sign me up! And the chance to control a secret army of undercover fireman drivers? It’s like all my childhood dreams coming true at once… (more…)

Legoface

December 16, 2008

Joel has been getting at me recently for basing pretty much all of my posts around some sort of hip hop connection, but these are just too good to pass up. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who didn’t love Lego when they were a kid, and it’s testament to the enduring love affairs that the brand creates that grown men and women will produce work like this. Sleeveface is old news – long live Legoface…

I found these records and I think they’re brilliant. Firstly, “Raiders of the Pop Charts”, no comment necessary, and secondly, Bruce Willis with “The Return of Bruno”. I didn’t know that Bruce “Yippie Kai Aye” Willis was so multi-faceted:

Axe Guerrilla Campaign

December 2, 2008

axeviral

Scanning through guerrilla marketing campaigns online I came across this absolute gem. Axe/Lynx just have their tone absolutely down across their entire communications mix – funny, irreverent and knowingly over the top enough to belie a touch of self-deprecation that goes a long way to humanise the brand. That’s the true genius of Lynx to me, that they know that they peddle average crap (albeit nicely packaged crap) that hasn’t got a snowball’s chance in hell of getting you laid, know that everyone else knows it too, and yet manage to twist this into a real selling point through their humour – this is aspirational advertising for the guy who could get the girl, if only he wasn’t so damn lazy…
